Faith - An Endowment for Orthdoxy & Hellenism

Throughout the last 15 years, with generous support from our 36 Founding Members, FAITH advances its mission of supporting the Greek Orthodox faith, promoting Hellenism and celebrating excellence in education for future generations by sponsoring grants and scholarship programs that strengthen young people’s knowledge and relationship to the Orthodox faith and Hellenism throughout the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and other partner organizations. The FAITH Scholarships for Academic Excellence program is one of the FAITH Founders’ most cherished initiatives. FAITH has awarded more than 600 scholarships, proudly supporting excellence amongst the future leaders of our Archdiocese and community.

On behalf of FAITH: An Endowment for Orthodoxy and Hellenism, we share the attached flyer announcing a scholarship opportunity for the graduating high school seniors in your parish. Through the FAITH Scholarship for Academic Excellence program, FAITH awards merit-based scholarships to exemplary young people in the Greek Orthodox and Hellenic community who achieve academic excellence and are actively involved in their church and community.

To be eligible, applicants must be a member of a Greek Orthodox parish and a graduating high school senior enrolling in a 4-year accredited U.S. university this fall. Application deadline is June 17th, 2019.

Stamo Latto Scholarship

Each year, the Stamo Latto Scholarship is awarded to talented young women who are US citizens and members of canonical Orthodox churches in Charleston, SC and Memphis, TN. High school senior women are preferred, but academically strong junior women may also apply and, even if awarded scholarships, may reapply as seniors.  Available scholarships average $1000, although awards may range from $500 to more than $1,000, depending on qualifications and the pool of candidates.
